What would your 2023 mission trip look like?
This part of Asia is in a state of flux, as traditions of thousands of years compete with modernization, and many young adults move abroad in pursuit of a brighter future. By appearances, it is a lush plain, ripe with agricultural fruitfulness and bordered by slow rising Himalayan mountains in the distance. In the villages, families and communities are going through life at the pace of seed-time and harvest, while in the cities, a faster pace of life attracts those that are younger and more willing to try new things.
Similar to a spiritual boot camp, your time here will be intense spiritually, academically, mentally and physically. This is an invitation to participants to follow the Lord with all their heart, mind, soul and strength. You will be invited to obey both the Great Commission and the Great Commandment, with a main goal of the time to understand on a practical level the Father’s heart for the nations, and how your life is part in it. There will be opportunities to “fish” for those that God is preparing, finding people asking questions deeper than surface level: Why are all my friends leaving for different countries? What do people actually think about my community? Is there more than career and marriage? Are there really multiple ways to God?
The team in this country has met many people in search of answers, shared truths of the gospel with them, and is beginning to see fruit. As an Edger, you can play a role in bringing those that are seeking truth closer to the Truth. A deep commitment to prayer, intercession and learning about God’s hearts for all people will be required, but as Christ promises, “I am with you always, even until the end of the age,” and we want to invite you into experiencing His presence for yourself!
