What would your summer mission trip look like?
About an hour from the sea and in the midst of rolling hills lies the country’s biggest village of 300,000.
A unique mixture of secular, Islamic and village life, this city in the Middle East stays young with a large university in multiple locations. It is filled with parks and cafes where people value time in relationships. The people are hospitable and desire to learn English.
God has been faithfully drawing people to Himself over the past ten years. A few local churches and some Bible studies are found throughout the city. Local believers are beginning to understand how they can make a difference and starting more Bible studies.
We desire Edgers to develop relationships in hopes of studying the Bible with their friends. This might include connecting the people they meet with a local believer who can help them over time.
The team will be reaching out to locals, but not only that. They will also serve team leaders at their annual gathering. This will be an opportunity to encourage the team leaders and their children, as team leaders get training, and rest in mountain cabins.
It’ll also be a great time to get wisdom and hear different perspectives. There will be a trip to visit these team leaders in their cities throughout the country. It will be a time to serve and encourage them however we can.
We are looking for Edgers that are considering what this kind of work would look like long term. For a couple of evenings each week, the team will come together for worship, time in the Word, and time to talk about the multiple tensions of living as an overseas worker.
