What would your 2023 mission trip look like?
This place is often referred to as Riku no Kotou, or Lonely Island. Miyazaki is separated from the rest of Kyushu by mountains, and while Japan boasts a population of 125 million, it is just a tiny island country. Would you consider joining this team at the ends of the earth? We are finding the harvest is plenty.
By connecting with the community through sports, community activities, teaching classes and simply living life here, you will find people who are interested in learning more about Jesus. You are invited to join in and see how God could use your gifts, skills, and passions to connect with new communities and pray together that God would help the team find people who are seeking Him. In doing so, you will be extending the relational reach of the long-term team.
Miyazaki has a wonderful balance of nature and city. It provides the familiar comforts of malls, trains, supermarkets and entertainment while being just minutes away from beaches where people surf, hiking trails and rivers for fishing. It has a slower pace than the larger cities of Japan. You’ll find neighbors talking at the park, farmers selling produce along the street and fields of rice right in the middle of most neighborhoods. This slower pace provides many chances to talk with people and integrate more deeply with the community where fruit is visible.
This team is in the beginning stages of planting a church. They are tilling the soil, trying to meet as many people as they can and identify those who want to know more about the Bible. Several Bible studies have begun and there is certainly more store as they faithfully obey God’s Word.
Join in prayer for the Japanese, one of the largest unreached people groups in the world. Come help share about our God who intimately loves us to a country of a thousand gods who do not hear, see, or care. Work with this team to bring light to the ends of the earth and good news to the Lonely Island.
