Horn Team

The roots of Islam grow deep among the proud people who inhabit the Horn of Africa. The population is nearly 15 million, but there is not yet a single mature church among them. After 20 years of war, the people are desperate for peace. Christ is the one who brings light and life into dark places. Yet how will they ever know that unless someone goes and shares this great news with them?

Your focus will be teaching intermediate to advanced English to those preparing to resettle in America or another Western country. From relationships formed within the school and in the neighborhood, you will have many opportunities to share about your life andfaith over a cup of tea, a game of chess or soccer, a meal of camel meat and pasta, or simply relaxing together in the living room. While most of your stay will be in an urban environment, you will also take side trips to rural areas to see other ministry efforts. In addition, you’ll spend time learning languageand culture to help you have meaningful spiritual conversations with local people.
